I had a ski trip planned to Snowmass, Colorado for this week. Snowmass is one of my favorite ski areas- a variety of runs from wide-open "Big Burn" to glades thru the trees. Good snow and well-groomed trails makes for fun, easy skiing. But in November my knee decided to blow up, hobbling me and requiring a knee replacement. So- I scheduled the surgery for the first week of January. That allowed me to go to California for Christmas with my son and family. We went up to Tahoe to his mountain house, but I had to stay inside while he and my step-grandaughter went skiing.
The surgery went well, and after two days in the hospital I came home to help from Steen here and in-patient physical therapy. All I can do is look for photos from friends in my ski club who are at Snowmass now. I have another month to recuperate and get the leg strong before my next trip to Mexico to explore some archeological ruins-stay tuned.
